Egoism will lead to one's destruction

Recently I have heard read an interesting story, told by my father. The story begins when a big naval ship with the highest ranking commander on board, was sailing on the pacific ocean after a naval exercise for many days, and was finally returning to its base. One night, on their journey, they meet with big haze that blocked the vision of the ship. Hence the ship captain have to rely on their navigation system to guide the way.
Suddenly, the navigation system, alert the ship captain with an unknown object that was approaching their ship. The commander on board did not want to move away and used the loud speaker to communicate, "The ship in front, move out of the way!". The unidentified object replied, "No, you have to move out of the way!". The message angered the commander, that rebuked " How dare you tell me to move away, do you know that I have the highest authority in the military?"," Heed my advice, better sail away from this direction!". The commander did not listen to the other party, and sail full speed ahead. On spur of a moment, the ship crashed, and everyone on board did not survive. It was too late for them to realise that they have crashed into a light house.
The morale of this story taught me that, no matter how high of a status one have, they should not be stubborn or arrogant, in fact we should be humble and be willing to listen to others advice.
